of the History of the Helidon Branch which was founded in the
year 1933.
The Helidon and District Progress Association is a group of Community minded citizens with a forward focus for the development and maintenance of the immediate community of Helidon.
The
Helidon State School was opened in May 1874. In 1912, the school
building was destroyed by a cyclone and rebuilt on its present
sight in Church Street now called School Street. The school
house that was constructed can still be seen in Plant Street,
close to the Warrego Highway intersection. The two-story school
building in use in 2004 was completed in 1969.
